ARE YOU AVOIDING GOD’S WORD BY DONALD YOUNG

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:7).

If we avoid reading, studying, and listening to the Word of God, we are missing out on growing in His Knowledge and Grace.

If we think serving God is only a church building Sunday affair, we are deceiving ourselves.

If we think it is okay for our relationship with the Lord to be an isolated impersonal relationship without reading, studying, and adhering to His Word, we are disobeying Him.

Because God commands us to read His Word. His Word is Truth. We should allow His Word to counsel, direct, reprove, correct, and guide our path.

We should allow His Word to be the final authority on how we live our lives and determine what is what is wrong or right.

If we are allowing our flesh, this fallen world, satan, and his demons to hinder us from reading, studying, and listening to God’s Word, we are in actuality being disobedient, rebellious, and an enemy of what God truly wants for us, and it will hinder our growth and obedience unto Him.

Without His Word to direct our path and guide us, we will be under the sway of the wicked one, our flesh, and this fallen world.

We are commanded to study to show ourselves approved rightly dividing the word of truth, and live by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God (Romans 10:17, 2 Timothy 2:1, Hebrew 4:12, Matthew 4:4).

May we humble ourselves unto the LORD allowing His Word to be a lamp unto our feet (Psalm 119:105).
